The Way Of Resurrection
He is risen! He is risen indeed.
After a season of Lent—marked by humility, confession, and our deep awareness that “from dust we came”—Easter breaks in with a truth almost too good to comprehend: we are not destined for dust alone. We are destined for life. For resurrection. For becoming like Him.
The Morning Everything Changed
It began in the dark.
In Gospel of Luke 24, a group of women walk toward a tomb, carrying spices and heavy grief. As far as they know, the story is over. Jesus is dead. Hope has been buried.
But when they arrive, the stone is rolled away.
The tomb is empty.
And the question that echoes through history is spoken: “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!” (Luke 24:5–6)
This is not metaphor or wishful thinking. This is the bold claim at the center of our faith—Jesus has risen, and everything has changed.
When Grief Meets Resurrection
In Gospel of John 20, Mary Magdalene stands weeping outside the tomb, certain that Jesus is gone. Until a voice speaks her name: “Mary.”
And in that moment, everything shifts.
The one she thought was dead is alive.
Resurrection is not just an event—it’s deeply personal. The risen Jesus still calls people by name. He still meets us in our grief and transforms it into hope.
Why the Resurrection Matters
The apostle Paul writes in First Epistle to the Corinthians 15:20 that Christ is the “firstfruits” of those who have died.
He goes first—but not last.
This means resurrection is not just about Jesus. It’s about us. If He is raised, then death is not the end. Sin does not win. The grave does not have the final word.
This is the foundation of our faith. As Paul says, if Christ has not been raised, our faith is empty—but He has been raised.
Resurrection Life Starts Now
Easter is not only about a future hope—it is a present reality.
Epistle to the Romans 8:11 reminds us that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is now at work in us. Resurrection life begins the moment we follow Him.
It’s like a prison door thrown open—freedom is already available. But we must step into it.
So many of us still live as if we’re bound, when Jesus has already made a way out.
Walking the Jesus Way
Throughout Lent, we’ve walked the path of sacrifice, humility, and surrender. Easter reveals that this path doesn’t end at the cross.
It leads through it.
To follow Jesus is to trust that His story becomes ours:
We die with Him.
We are raised with Him.
We walk in new life with Him.
Even in suffering, we have hope.
Even in uncertainty, we have purpose.
Even in death, we have a future.
An Invitation to Step Into Life
Easter is not just something to celebrate—it’s something to receive.
So where is Jesus calling you out of the grave?
Where have you been living as though hope is gone?
Hear His voice. Step into freedom. Walk in resurrection life.
Because the tomb is empty. Christ is risen.
And that changes everything.
