OUR Community Story

Where we came from

Grace Community Church began as Charleswood Gospel Temple back in 1949 as a Sunday School outreach led by young adults from Calvary Temple, Winnipeg. By 1977 the congregation had grown to the point that expansion was needed. Property was purchased just outside the perimeter highway (at Roblin Blvd) and a new building was built. Our present location was dedicated to God September 17th, 1978. On October 5, 2008 the congregation voted to change the name to Grace Community Church. Fast forward a few years...

Where we are now...

Grace Community Church is not just our name; it is our mission. We strive to be people of grace in the community. We meet Sunday mornings for worship and encouragement, but our ministry is not just to put on a great service each week. We want to do life together, to make a difference in the lives of those who call this community home as well as the neighbourhood around us. We gather together in LIFE Groups in each other’s homes, we play floor hockey, we restore vintage vehicles, we study Scripture, we eat and we laugh. We believe that our faith makes a difference in every aspect of our lives. Our desire is to be disciples of Jesus. To follow His teaching, to love like He loves, to reflect His grace in the world around us.

Where we are heading...

Our desire is to see our community transformed by the love and grace of God; to see people set free and living life to the fullest. We hope to be a positive change agent in the world around us. We believe that if we take the words of Jesus seriously and devote our lives to His teachings, we will see the world become a better place; more love, more peace, more freedom. That is the direction we are heading. For more information, stop by some Sunday morning, check out one of our events or drop a Pastor a note. We’d love for you to join us as we continue in this incredible story that is Grace. Grace Community Church is affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.
